Feeling Stuck in Paradise? Therapy in Pacific Palisades Can Help

Pacific Palisades is a special place. The ocean is close. The air is fresh. The sunsets over the cliffs are something out of a dream. People walk their dogs through the village. Kids ride bikes down quiet streets. From the Palisades Recreation Center to the hiking trails in Temescal Canyon, nature is always nearby.

But even in a peaceful place, life can still be hard.

You might feel worried all the time. You might be sad and not know why. Maybe you smile on the outside but feel heavy inside. That’s okay. Everyone goes through tough times.

You don’t have to deal with it alone.

A Safe Place to Talk—Without Pressure

Therapy is a place where you can say how you feel. You don’t have to fake a smile. You don’t have to be “fine.”

Some days are hard. Some weeks feel impossible. In therapy, you can share your thoughts without anyone judging you. It’s your space.

Whether you’re a student at Palisades Charter High, a busy parent, or just someone trying to figure things out, this space is for you.

Meet Your Local Therapist, Addison Golden, LMFT

Hi, I’m Addison. I’m a licensed therapist who helps people all across California. I meet with clients online, including many who live in Pacific Palisades.

Some people come to me feeling overwhelmed. Others feel numb or stuck. I help them slow down, listen to themselves, and heal what’s underneath.

I believe you already have strength inside you. You just need the right tools and support to find it.

Life in the Palisades Looks Calm—But It Can Be Stressful

Pacific Palisades is quiet, but life isn’t always so simple. You might be juggling work, family, and your own emotions. You might be going through changes like a breakup or a job loss. Maybe everything looks good on the outside, but something still feels off.

Therapy helps you figure out what’s going on beneath the surface. We work together to untangle those thoughts and feelings.

From the cliffs of Paseo Miramar to the streets near Gelson’s, people here are doing their best. You are, too.

4. What You Can Expect From Therapy

We Start With a Free Call

First, we talk for about 20 minutes. You can ask me anything. I’ll tell you how I work. You get to decide if it feels right.

The First Session

Our first full session lasts 60 minutes. You’ll tell me a bit about your life—what’s going on now, and what you hope to change. No rush. Just real talk.

Weekly or Biweekly Sessions

After that, we meet regularly for 50 minutes. These are your times to explore, feel, and grow.

All sessions are online. You can join from your kitchen, your car, or even after a walk on the beach.

5. What We Can Work On Together

You can come to therapy with anything. Here are some of the things I help people with:

  • Anxiety that keeps spinning in your mind

  • Feeling like you’re not doing enough

  • Big changes that feel hard to handle

  • Past pain that still hurts

  • Trouble saying no or setting boundaries

  • Sadness that won’t lift

  • Worry about being perfect all the time

Even if you don’t know what’s wrong, that’s okay. Therapy helps you figure it out.

6. You’ll Learn New Ways to Handle Hard Stuff

We Slow Things Down

Life in the Palisades can move fast, even if it looks calm. Therapy gives you time to stop, breathe, and notice what you need.

You Get Tools That Help

I’ll teach you ways to handle stress, big feelings, and negative thoughts. These are tools you can use every day—in traffic on Sunset Boulevard or during a tough talk with a loved one.

You Build Trust With Yourself

The more we talk, the more you learn to trust your voice. That’s where real change begins.

How I Work—Simple, Honest, and Caring

You Lead the Way

Every person is different. I don’t follow a script. I listen and help you find what works best for you.

I’m Gentle, But Real

I’m kind, but I won’t just nod and smile. I’ll help you face hard stuff when you’re ready so that you can grow strong.

Your Mind and Body Work Together

Your stress doesn’t just live in your head. It shows up in your body, too. We’ll learn how to notice that and calm it.

You Don’t Need to Wait for a Crisis

Many people wait until they hit a breaking point to ask for help. You don’t have to.

Therapy can help even when things are “mostly fine.” It’s not just for when you’re falling apart. It’s also for when you want to feel more like you again.

If you’re walking through the bluffs, watching the waves, but still feeling empty inside—that’s your sign. It’s time to take care of your mind and heart, not just your calendar.
