FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy is a gradual process that, with willingness and consistency, can help shift painful patterns and bring you closer to who you truly are. It draws on various methods—like open dialogue, guided activities, and practices to explore between sessions—to better understand and uncover thoughts and behaviors that contribute to emotional discomfort.
Therapy also makes space for you to reconnect with emotions that may have been pushed away for different reasons. As you become more aware of your thoughts, actions, and feelings, you build the ability to break free from patterns that no longer serve you and start relating to yourself and others in more genuine, satisfying ways.
How often will we meet?
Sessions take place weekly or biweekly at minimum to support the quality and continuity of care.
How long will I be in therapy?
The response to this question isn't straightforward—it really varies. The timeline can differ widely from one person to another, largely depending on what issues are focused on. As therapy progresses, new concerns or insights may emerge that weren’t initially apparent, which can then become part of the work and potentially lengthen the overall course of therapy.
What does session cost?
Individual sessions are $175.00. I offer a sliding scale based on need. I am also able to provide a superbill or receipt of services that you may submit to your insurance provider for partial reimbursement. I encourage you to bring any financial questions to our 20 minute intro call!
How will I pay?
I will ask that your card details are kept on file. You will have the option to enroll in auto-pay through Alma. If you are paying privately, we will use a HIPAA compliant billing software and I will manually charge your card on the day of session.
Do you accept insurance?
Affordable and accessible care is important to me. I am in-network with Aetna and UnitedHealthcare. Please visit my Alma link at the bottom of the page.
What if I need to cancel?
Of course, cancellations come up. However, your session time is reserved just for you. With the exception of emergencies, cancellations with less than 24 hours notice will be charged the full session fee.
How long are sessions?
Individual psychotherapy sessions are typically scheduled for 50 minutes.
